Featured Collectible – Bennington Pottery
I had never heard of Bennington Pottery until last year, when I found two different tile trivets (a sun and a pig) at two different sales. I’m so glad that I did – they both sold, which is always awesome, but mostly I was happy because WOW did they put out some amazing stuff!! I really can’t believe that I went as long as I did without knowing that they existed… But now I do, and I thought I had better share, in case there was anyone else out there who hadn’t run across them yet…
Bennington Potters was founded by David Gil in 1948, in Bennington, Vermont. It is still in operation today, specializing in dinnerware for the most part, from the looks of what is currently for sale on their website. The new stuff is gorgeous, without a doubt, but of course what I am most interested in are the quirky vintage pieces that are floating around out there. I have the early Albert the computer man wall hanging in excellent…also my and miss salt and pepper shaker..salt shaker in so so condition pepper like new. I also have a 1970 or so bird bath and large hot plate with large bird. Excellent condition..would like to sell
